    Comparison of Learning Styles of Secondary School Teachers and Their Disposition to Critical Thinking

  • Abstract
    The objective of this paper is to determine the learning styles of secondary school teachers and their disposition to critical thinking and to reveal the relationship between the two construct forward. The study is based on a survey method. The study group is composed of 106 secondary school teachers in an in-service education seminar held by Ministry of National Education. In order to present the learning styles of teachers Inventory of Kolb Learning Styles and to find out their critical thinking abilities California Critical Thinking Disposition Scale were employed. The results of the study suggest that it has been determined that teachers possess the styles of critical thinking disposition of convergent and assimilating most and divergent least; open-minded most and systematic and truth-seeking least. The critical thinking scores of teachers were found out low. Only in the truth-seeking dimension of the inventory there is statistically significant difference by learning styles and no significant difference in other dimensions.
