Abstract :
The aim of the current study is to investigate the relationship between digital culture and education. Reviewing literature via document analysis, scientific studies which were conducted on digital culture and education in Turkey and published in Turkish were accepted as documents (for articles and theses the date is 2012 to present). Documents consisted of 38 articles, and 6 master s theses. The articles and theses chosen within the scope of this study were examined through content analysis considering the titles sociological dimensions of digital culture and the relationship of digital culture to education. In the analysis of documents in terms of sociological dimension of digital culture, it was observed that issues such as the impact of digital culture on individuals, society, and traditional structure and the use of digital culture as a communication and an entertainment tool were mostly studied. However, in the analysis of digital culture’ relationship to education dimension, it was found that the focus was on the issues such as the use of technology as a training method/technique, and the relationship between digital culture and the dimensions of the education. In light of these results, longitudinal and experimental studies have been recommended to be conducted regarding the use of digital technology consciously.
