    The Views of the Postgraduate Students about the Values Hiddenly Given at Secondary Schools

  • Abstract
    The main purpose of this research is to determine the views of the postgraduate students about the values hiddenly given at secondary schools. The research group of the study includes 22 postgraduate students studying in Siirt University, Faculty of Education, Department of Educational Programs and Instructional Science in 2014-2015 academic year. As data collection tool, semi- structured interview form developed by researchers was used. In the analysis of data, interviews which were conducted to Master’s students were decoded and voice records were listened to. The data were subjected to descriptive and content analysis. In conclusion, it was seen that Master degree students describe value concept with belief and democratic view; teachers conduct activities by using different methods and techniques and taking account of respect dimension; values are given more place to social science course; respect and ideological values are given hiddenly; students take into consideration spiritual and individual values such as respect and being successful. Based on these results, suggestions are presented with relation to students ’ views about the effectiveness of values.
