Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the studies on mathematics education conducted between 2000 and 2009 in Turkey and to provide a general framework for recent research in mathematics education. The research sample constitutes the studies published in the journals of Hacettepe University Faculty of Education (HUEFD), The Turkish Online Journal of Educational Technology (TOJET), Theory and Practice of Educational Sciences (KUYEB) and the Eurasian Journal of Educational Research (EJER). 153 articles were examined in the study. According to the findings of studies, emotional dimension was common in the articles. Among the mathematics topics, algebra was studied in general in the articles. Overall, findings from the present study suggests that research in mathematics education needs to be increased and should cover more topics.
