Abstract :
Ahmet Hâşim has been accepted a strong pen as a prosaist. He based on personal aspect and aesthetic instead of political approach in his articles. The author went to Frankfurt, city of Germany in 1932 to be treated. He published his observations, impressions and ideas in various magazines and newspapers between 1932 and 1933. These articles were gathered by the author in a book named Frankfurt Seyahatnamesi (Travelbook of Frankfurt). In these study some elements like human, nature, city and architecture will be handled. When examining imagery and descriptions, positive signs in Ahmet Hâşim’s aspect increases throughout his journey to Germany. He focuses on different points from architecture to museology, from foods to medicine, from interpersonal relations to value of human. It is drawn an admired positive image of West in the travelbook. The author represents his dream for East through the mentioned image. Besides this, it is intuited a satire to East, under every praise to the West.
