Abstract :

Theaim of this study is exposure of view and attitudes of students at the level of elementary education about individualism and solidarity. For this aim, in this study a scale developed by Kennet Orlenius was used. The scale includes two part sand in the first part, to present attitudes of students about individualism and solidarity a survey consisting of 35 items and 5-rating system was used. In the second part, five short stories translated to Turkish and simplified and there are open-ended questions about these stories to execute view of students about individualism and solidarity. For quantitative analysis of study, SPSS 16 and T-test and analysis of variance were used. The qualitative data was categorized after document review without a change in answers of students. For analysis of this data, frequency method was implemented. According to findings of study, there is no a significant difference between attitudes of students about solidarity and individualism and gender, class level, socio-economic level, education level of parents. In addition, this study concluded that students are quite conscious about protection of value of solidarity.
