Abstract :
The aim of this study is to compare the knowledge levels of primary school teachers in Ağrı Education Faculty/Department of Primary Education and primary school teacher about the process of teaching a text in Turkish Education Curriculum (1 to 5 grades). This research was carried out utilizing quantitative data collection techniques, it is a descriptive study based on the screening model. In this research, 43 primary school teachers and 152 fourth grade students ongoing Department of Primary School Teaching was applied knowledge test in order to determine the level of their knowledge about the process of teaching of the text. The average success level of the teachers regarding the whole process of teaching a text is 61.2. The average success level of teacher candidates (student teachers of department of elementary education ongoing fourth grade) regarding the whole process of teaching a text is 58.5. In the analysis of the knowledge levels about text working process of teacher candidates (student teachers of department of elementary education ongoing 4. grade); it was found that teachers have been more successful than the teachers candidates.
