City Administration of Ayntap in the Second Half of the XVII. Century
Abstract :
Ottoman Empire started to go away from ıts classic form because of socio economic turmoil in the XVIIth century. The iltizam superseded the tımar system due to corruption, thus the organisation of administrative body in the provinces changed in some way. In this paper, sancakbeyi, mütesellim, alaybeyi, subaşı, yeniçeri serdarı, kehüda yeri, yasakçı and castle officials like ehl-i orf s with kadı, müftü, and nakibüleşraf kaymakam whose represented ehl-i şer’ were determined and the duties of them were examined.
