Methods of Word Derivation in Turkish
Abstract :
Turkish as a language is structurally located in the class of post-agglutinative languages which is a part of agglutinative langauages group. By attaching these suffixes, Turkish language derives nouns and verbs based on grammatic words or provides these words to be used in the syntax. Also analogy and portmanteau (combined words) methods are among the other methods of drivings words, in order to meet the new terms and conditions. Beside these, it is observed that some of grammatic words are derived trough switching the voices in the stem of words. In this study, method of voice switching in Turkish and the grammatic words, derived by means of this method is evaluated.
