  • Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate enamel bond strength of various restorative systems containing silorane or dimethacrylate-based composite resins and self-etch and total-etch adhesives after hydrogen peroxide bleaching, activated by a diode laser. For this purpose a 38% hydrogen peroxide gel was applied onto sound flattened labial enamel surfaces and activated by diode laser. Restorative systems were applied onto power bleached enamel surfaces after a waiting period of three weeks, and shear bond adhesion test was performed. Statistical analysis showed significant influence of the variable, different restorative systems on shear bond strength to enamel. The data suggest that application of different restorative systems may provide various shear bond strengths to enamel after power bleaching. Further studies examining the structural changes of activated hydrogen peroxide treated enamel are needed. Application of silorane and dimethacrylate-based composite restorative systems containing two-step self-etch or one-step total-etch adhesives may be more convenient rather than the application of dimethacrylate-based composite restorative systems containing all-in-one self-etch adhesives after power bleaching.
