Abstract :
Turkish Commercial Code (Act No: 6102) regulates Shipping Documents between articles 1228 and 1245. These articles give the importance to the traditional bill of lading that is used most often in the carriage by sea; however, because the sea waybill and other documents have been used for relatively long time other shipping documents are also included in the Code. One of the functions of a bill of lading is evidentiary function. In this article evidentiary function of a bill of lading is examined.
