Abuse of Bank or Credit Cards
Abstract :
The abuse of bank or credit cards is regulated as a crime in Article 245 of the Turkish Criminal Code under Section Ten entitled Information Technology Crimes of the Chapter Three governing Crimes Against the Society. The aforesaid Article provides three types of crimes as regards the abuse of bank and credit cards; namely, “providing a benefit with a bank or credit card held by another person”, “production of forged bank or credit cards by associating them with bank accounts held by other persons, or selling, transferring, purchasing or accepting such cards”, and “providing a benefit by using a bank or credit card that is either forgedly produced or has been subject to a forgery.
