Physical, emotional, sexual and economic violence are types of domestic violence and are a widespread reality as it is laid down in many national and international surveys. In Turkey the “Law of Protection of Family and Preventing Violence against Women” is an important legal base for protective and preventive measures against domestic violence. But unfortunately in practice it is not capable of ensuring the effective prevention.
