Abstract :
A variety of views has been asserted on the status of woman in Turkish tribes so far; place and importance of woman in family, society and community life have been discussed. Language-related factors, archeological knowledge, findings and documents provide very significant data to determine the place and importance of woman in Turkish society for those interested in this field. In this article titled “Thoughts on Ancient Turkish Woman Sculptures”, it is attempted to determine the place of woman in Turkish tribes by means of concrete objects taking stand from the woman sculptures of Ancient Turkish period excavated from different regions of Turkish world.
