Abstract :
The Sumerians are among the oldest societies of the history of humanity. Many important inventions that are the symbols of culture and civilization, primarily “writing”, are known to be first developed by the Sumerians. The Turks, like Sumerians, are also among the most ancient societies of human history. It brings to mind the question “Is there a link between the Sumerians and the Turks?” A great deal of information and a large number of documents, especially Sumerian documents, clearly reveal that there is a close relation between the Sumerians and the Turks. This paper includes information on the fact that Nowruz celebrated in the past and still today by all the Turkish tribes was also celebrated by the Sumerians.
