ANALYSIS OF CORRELATION BETWEEN LEARNING STYLE AND APPROACHES TO LEARNING PREFERENCES OF PROSPECTIVE TEACHERS
Abstract :
The aim of this research is to determine the learning styles and approaches to learning preferences of prospective teachers and relationship between the learning styles and approaches to learning preferences. Survey model were used in the research. The population of the research consists of freshmen and senior prospective teachers who were continuing their undergraduate degree Kazim Karabekir Faculty of Education, Atatürk University, Faculty of Education, Ağrı Ibrahim Çeçen University and Faculty of Education, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University in 2012-2013 educational year, spring semester. The sample of the research consisted of 932 prospective teachers who were selected through random sampling method. According to the results of the research prospective teachers have divergent learning style mostly. Although the learning styles have not changed significantly according to university, sex and class variables have changed significantly according to department variable. Prospective teachers have preferred deep and strategic approaches to learning mostly. Although the approaches to learning have not changed significantly according to university and class variables have changed significantly according to department and sex variable.
