Abstract :
Handwritten history books written in Turkic constitute one of the important resources in terms of their content and language characteristics for Turkology. This article will examine the work of known historian of Khiva Khanate, Beyânî s Şecere-i Harezmşâhî. In this book, rulers of Khanate are described. This description includes those rulers geneology, personalities and events during periods of their reign. In the first chapter, there is an introduction written by Beyânî, then there is a short history of prophets from Adam to Noah. Then events from the emergence of Mongol nation to the establishment of the Khiva Khanate were mentioned. Next chapters concern the rulers of the khanate. It is seen that the work carries inscriptional characteristics of last period of Chagatai Turkish. Irregular dual writings of words are noteworthy. Phonetical events are effective on writing. Also the etymon of the words are influential on the writing of suffixes.
