NON-MUSLIM POPULATION AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 20TH CENTURY IN DEMİRCİ

At the beginning of the 20th century in Demirci town was centre of Demirci district name that “Demirci”. It was the city of Saruhan sanjak which Saruhan sanjak depended was eyalet of Aydın. Majority of Demirci town population is Turks. Although there was not a dense non-Muslim in the Demirci town, there was a neighbourhood to create a number of their in the early 20th century. In this study have been worked living non-Müslim population at the beginning of the 20th century in Demirci town, centre of Demirci district. Population Registry was used as the main source. It is in the Demirci District Population Office’s Archive.
