Abstract :
“Nazirecilik” is one of the oldest traditions of Turkish literature. This tradition is a poem writing technique that is commonly used in both Divan literature and folk literature. Each poet wants to imitate his favourite poems of great poets who lived before him and produce similar ones. Writing nazires for these poems is important, because at the same time, it shows the imitator’s power of poesy. In Turkish poem tradition, writing nazire for poems of a poet is also important, because it proves the popularity of the imitated poet. Kul Himmet, who constitutes the subject matter of this article, also wrote nazires to some poems of his favourite folk poets and many nazires have been written for his poems by others
