Abstract :
Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome (GTS) is a chronic neuropsychiatric disorder that is characterized by motor and vocal tics. Control of motor tics may be difficult due to surgical stress and anxiety disorder in the perioperative period. Delirium is a complex neuropsychiatric disorder that changes consciousness, perception, thought and sleepwake cycle, reduces functional and cognitive capacity. After general anesthesia may occur as a result of deterioration of consciousness and cerebral functions in high-risk patients. Diagnosis and treatment of delirium are difficult and one of the most frequently used agent is haloperidol. Anesthetic approach and successful treatment of GTS patient with postoperative delirium is presented.
