Abstract :
Fatimids, who conquered Egypt and rearranged the Ismaili invitation order, have tried to disseminate their ideas via sending propagandists (dai) to the near and distant places. The daʿi they have sent for this purpose, have served to Fatimids both intellectual and military activities wherever they went. A Fatimids’ dai named al-Mu’ayyad fi’l-din has attracted attention during the time Seljuk’s started to march towards to Iraq and Al-Djazira. Fatimids, who worried that Syria and Egypt will be affected by the Seljuk attacks, have agreed to support Arslan al-Basasiri who had moved to Rahba rebelling against the Saldjuks, and they have appointed al-Mu’ayyad to do so. Al-Mu’ayyad, who have gone to Syria and have presented the gifts and money sent by the Fatimids, to Arslan al-Basasiri, made promises by sending letters to the tribes living in the region as well as he provide them to participate al-Basasiri group in this way. As the result of these studies organized by al-Mu’ayyad, Ibrahim Yinal has revolted in 450 and went to Hamadan. When Seljuks’ Sultan Tughrul Bey has abandoned from Baghdad then has gone to Hamadan to quell the rebellion of Ibrahim Yinal, al-Basasiri and their allies have captured the city and they instructed a hutba on behalf of Fatimids for nearly a year in Baghdad. After the capture of Baghdad, al-Mu’ayyad has returned to Egypt but he has not faced the expected interest there, then he died in 470 (1077).
