Abstract
At the start of EU membership negotiations, this study is to determine the changes of the EU Common Organization of the Market in Wine and the arrangements of the wineries in Turkey. The sample wineries surveyed were selected from a frame based on the Tobacco and Alcohol Market Regulatory Authority (TAPDK) register lists. The forty-two wineries which responded represent over 80% of the production volume of Turkish wine industry. The interviewed wineries were asked if they were ready for EU membership process and the subsequent period. It is determined that %71.43 wineries did not have enough information about the EU Common Organization of the Market and were not ready for competition with the EU countries, needed some new investments such as vineyard planting, facility and machine renewal.
