Abstract :
This project was carried out to evaluate the allelopathic effects of the oleander (Nerium oleander), Vetch (Vicia sativa), faba bean (Vicia faba), turnip (Raphanus sativus), chinaberry (Melia azedarach) and brokoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica), leaves on Phelipanche spp in potato. Leaves of these plants were cut in small pieces and added into soil (10 kg soil/pot) on rates of %1, %2, %3, %4, %5. These soils were left in dark incubation at 25 °C for 1, 2, 3 months. In 1 month experiment germination rate for all applications and especially for oleander was counted less than the control average (except broccoli). Germination in control was 4.5 plants per pot, whereas the highest germination was seen in brokoli % 1 treatment with 6 plants per pot. Germination was lower for all plants at the dose of % 5 and no germination achieved in vetch and oleander added pots. Besides, chinaberry and faba bean treatments showed less germination in compared to control. It was determined that when the application dose increased, germination of Phelipanche spp decreased. On the other hand none of the Phelipanche spp seeds in pots with 3 months incubated oleander, vetch and faba bean added soils germinated. Phelipanche spp germination was under the control average for all applications. The highest germination was in 3 months incubated chinaberry with 0.8 plants per pot. These results proved the possibility of utilizing faba bean, vetch and oleander plant residues in Phelipanche spp. management by adding to soil before seeding.
