Abstract
The aim of this research is to find out the effects of regular and limited heating to reduce the determinant effects of low temperatures on pollen germination under the ecological conditions of Antalya. In this research, M-19 F1, which is a tomato variety suitable for long season crop production was grown in the greenhouses. The research was conducted at the Mediterranean University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture. Samples were collected during the whole flowering period in order to examine the effects of heating on pollen germination. It was observed that polen germination was %34.72 at 8.4 ˚C in unhaeted greenhouse and %44.28 in limited heated greenhouse. Results indicated that heating by keeping minimum 10 ˚C has increased in vitro pollen viability.
