Determination of graft compatibility level of alyanak and roxana apricot varieties grafted on some clonal and seedling Prunus rootstock

Abstract
This study was carried out at Egirdir Horticultural Research Institute between 2005 and 2007 years. In this research graft compatibility was investigated in Union combinations such as Alyanak and Roxana apricot varieties grafted on peach seedling, almond seedling and Myrobolan 29C clonal rootstock. 6 and 12 months after grafting, graft samples were evaluated microscopically and macroscopically. At transverse sections that taken from 6 months after grafting were observed forming of callus in all combinations from scion and rootstock, being broken of necrotic layer as different densities and occurring of cambial differentiations and cambial continuity between scion and rootstock was established. It was stated that Alyanak/Peach seedling, Alyanak/Myrobolan 29C, Roksana/Peach seedling, and Roksana/Myrobolan 29C grafting combinations had been evaluated as compatible but Roksana/Almond seedling and Alyanak/Almond seedling grafting combinations had been evaluated as incompatible.
