Abstract :
Drought ranks at the first among natural disasters around the world. There are no sufficient legal regulations on the matter in Turkey and the strategies of crisis management (reactive) is adopted drought management The effects of drought could be more effectively reduced by risk management (proactive), which includes the studies to be carried out before the slowlydeveloping drought takes place. Therefore, proactive management strategies should be preferred instead of reactive management measures. In this paper, major drought management strategies have been investigated.
