Abstract :
This study was undertaken Bağyurdu district of Kemalpaşa- Izmir, where intensive cherry farming takes place. For this aim soil and leaf samples were taken from 60 cherry plantations representing this area. Soils were examined for their physical and chemical properteis (pH, total soluble salt, CaCO3, organic matter, texture, N, P, K, Ca, Mg) and leaves for their primary plant nutrients ( N, P, K, Ca, Mg). Results were composed with that of the cited reference valves to find the suitability of soils for cherry and nutrient status of the crop. In addition, soil and plant relationships were investigated by statistical evaluations. According to the results obtained from this research, 50.7 % of plantations are insufficient in N, 16.6 % in P, 85% in K, 75% in Ca and 65% in Mg.
