Analysis of investment projects oriented to organic and conventional apricot orchard in Malatya Province
Abstract :
The aim of this research paper is to determine that organic and conventional apricot growing is economically feasible or not feasible in Malatya Province of Turkey. Data were collected by survey in Malatya. The capacity of apricot project is selected as 35 decares. Total investment costs for first year are 145079.3 and 144896.2 Turkish Liras for organic and conventional apricot projects. The financial indicators calculated were Net Present Value(NPV), Benefit-Cost ratio (B/C), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PP) for pre-finance and post-finance for two projects. Organic and conventional apricot investment project values were found as profitable. Two project results are subjected to sensitivity analysis and it is found that the parameters are under various conditions subjected to variability in costs and incomes (20% cost increment, 20% income reduction).
