Title Of Article :
The Effect of Some Cultivated Plants Root Exudates and Green Manures on the Germination and Phenology of Sinapis alba L. (White mustard)
Abstract :
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of some different cultivated plants (barley, wheat, oat, rye, vetch, cabbage, canola) root exudates on seed germination of Sinapis alba L. Those experiments were conducted in petri dishes with randomized plot design with five replication. The other aim of this study was to find out the effect of different green manure of the same cultivated plants on growth stages of S. alba. Those experiments were conducted in screen house condition (Turkey- İzmir). The results showed that the highest germination rate (73.6- 66.8 %) was found at barley root exudates and at control applications. The lowest germination rate (7.2- 8.8 %) was at sunflower and vetch exudates. At vetch and rice- straw manure, white mustard plants were at bud stage (scale 51) in the 5th week of development, but at the same week they were at begining of stem elongation (scale 32) at the other manure applications. İt can be concluded that, the barley stimulates, but sunflower, vetch and cabbage inhibites the seed germination of S. alba. At vetch and rice- straw manure, white mustard growed faster than other manures. These results can be usefull in organic and suistanable agriculture for weed control
