Abstract :
Hicaz pomegranate is the most grown pomegranate variety in Ortaca Muğlaregion. For the experiment potassium and calcium were foliarly applied onHicaz pomegranate leaves in two separate orchards in order to evaluate theeffect of fertilizers on yield and leaf nutrient contents. For this purpose during2010-2011 period, 1.5 and 3% KNO3, 1.5 and 3% Ca(NO3)2, 0.75% KNO3 + 0.75%Ca(NO3)2 and 1.5% KNO3 + 1.5% Ca(NO3)2 were foliarly applied on leaves. Afterthe applications; P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu and Na nutrient contents of leaveswere determined. According to the results of the experiment; the amount ofyield with 3% KNO3 applications was slightly increased. As a result of thenutrient analysis of the leaves collected in the second orchard an increase of Cawas determined in comparison to the control parcels. It was determined that Kcontent in the leaves was increased by KNO3 applications. Similarly, the Cacontent in the leaves was increased by Ca(NO3)2 applications. According to theresults, Ca and K foliar sprays had positive affects on the fruit yield and leafnutrients concentration of pomegranate.
