Factors Affecting on Job Satisfaction of Extension Staff in Different Organizations in Turkey
Abstract :
ob satisfaction levels of employees are frequently dwelled upon subject in human resources development. In this study job satisfaction levels and factors affecting on job satisfaction are investigated in extension organizations in Turkey. The data of 250 extension workers from different extension organizations were gathered through questionnaire form. The collected data were interpreted by using comparative statistics besides binary and ordered logistic regression methods. 94% of extension staff is more or less satisfied with their jobs. Extension workers who graduated from the willingly chosen faculty have higher satisfaction levels on their jobs. The factors affecting on job satisfaction were divided into two categories as individual characteristics and organizational values in the study. According to the findings extension workers who are men, agricultural engineers, residing in urban, more experienced, and with the better adoption rates have higher job satisfaction levels. In Turkey, extension workers in the organizations those are having high social status, cooperating with different actors, giving importance on personal development, providing better wage for the staff, are more satisfied with their jobs.
