Abstract :
this paper has mapped and analyzed the landscape functions of the town of Foça by using biophysical variables. Biodiversity, habitat and cultural functions of the landscape were analyzed using geology, landform, land cover maps, Important Bird Area, Important Plant Area, Key Biodiversity Area, bird and Mediterranean monk seal observation data through ArcGIS 10 Spatial Analyst. The coastal area between the old and new Foça towns received the highest scores in terms of biodiversity, habitat and cultural functions. Hilly landscapes with natural vegetation cover that present an intact and continuous setting are located in the northern part of old Foça. It has the highest scores for biodiversity with 51 % and habitat functions with 53 %. In terms of cultural landscape functions, old Foça, the rocky coastal areas and the islands together with the Kartdere and Sazlıca villages and the Kozbeyli and Taskoy settlements located in the southeastern part of the study area have the highest scores.
