Title Of Article :
Effect of Sowing Time and Variety on Silage Quality of Maize
Abstract :
the aim of this research was to determine the effects of different sowing tim on silage quality of some silage maize varieties under second crop conditions. For this purpose, the research was carried out for two years in 2014 and 2015 according to the splitplot randomised complete block design with 4 replications. Sowing times (15 June, 30 June and 15 July) were main parcels and varieties (Burak, Samada-07, DKC 7211, Ada 523 and 31Y43) were sub-parcels. According to the obtained results, significant differences observed between maize varieties and sowing times in terms of silage dry matter ratio, silage crude protein ratio, silage raw ash ratio, silage NDF ratio, silage ADF ratio and lactic acid ratio. İn terms of silage quality, the most appropirate sowing time in Diyarbakır and similar ecologies can be suggested as 15 July, and the most suitable variety is Samada-07 variety.
