Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to determine of the proprioception composed on knee joint position sense of regular folk dancers and sedantaries applying the method of digitalganyametre. In this study ıt is aimed that in the positıons of weight bearing (WB), partial weight bearing (PWB) and non weight bearing (NWB) knee joint position sense is examined among the participants of the study -the regular folk dancers and sedantaries. Totaly 30 men - 15 folk dancers ( Average age: 21.33 ± 0.89, Average exercise age: 3 ± 0.76 year)-and 15 sedantaries ( Average age: 21. 2 ± 0.75 year) have participated in this study as volunteers. According to the results, when the knee joint position sense was examined on dominant leg in three different measurement positions with 15⁰, 30⁰, 45⁰ and 60⁰ degrees, meaningful differences were identified in favour of folk dancers non weight bearing (NWB) in the position of lie back down 45⁰ and 60⁰ degrees (p ≤ 0,05). However, no meaningful diffrences were found in the position of non weight bearing (NWB) lie back and face down 15⁰ and 30⁰ degrees, partial weight bearing (PWB) and in the position of weight bearing (WB), 15⁰, 30⁰, 45⁰ and 60⁰ degrees. As a result, compared to sedentary folk dancers there no significant differences in knee joint position sense; the shape of the training of dancers, dance experiences scarcity, fatigue, the desired angle without visual feedback, and exercises for proprioception considered to be due to running out.
