THE EFFECTS OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING METHOD BASED ON MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE THEORY ON SUMMARIZING STRATEGY IN TEACHING TURKISH TO 4TH GRADE OF PRIMARY SCHOOL
Abstract :
The aim of this research is to reveal the effects of cooperative learning method based on multiple intelligence theory on success summarizing strategy in Turkish classes. In the research, pre-test and post-test design with the control group was employed. The research involving 178 pupils was performed with 3 experiment groups and 1 control group in the fourth-grade Turkish classes. The research was conducted in Izmir and lasted for 14 weeks at a primary school in Buca. The data of the research were collected with “Summarizing Success Test.” The research revealed the following finding; In terms of summarizing success, both cooperative learning method and cooperative learning method based on Multiple Intelligence Theory were more effective than the 2005-2006 Turkish Curriculum.
