Abstract :
Raffaello Santi (Raphael), who lived in the years of 1483-1520, was an artist. Besides being a painter, he was also an architect and a sculptor. Moreover the artist was interested in archaeological findings and historicalmonuments. Raphael, who intensively includes architectural elements in his studies, revealed magnificent works. These works which contain architectural elements were applied successfully in different architecturalplaces and one of the beautiful works of him was the fresco of The Fire in the Borgo. He used all his knowledge skillfully in this fresco. Although he included single or double architectural elements in his other works, he used the architectural settings of doric, ionic and composite orders and the different masonry techniques harmoniously in the fresco of The Fire in the Borgo and it seems that he was quite successful. Raphael, who was able to apply all sorts of paintings to all kind of places, created magnificent visuality and the stunning expression of the self-created intelligence at this work. In this article, studies of Raffaello and the architectural elements in the fresco of The Fire in the Borgo will be mentioned.
