Abstract :
Evliya Celebi’s travelbook is one of the richest sources of Ottoman history. It is a great source on cities, societies and cultures and also a reference book for daily life. The travelbook presents a lot on the diseases, cures, health institutions, health information within society in the 17th century Ottoman Empire. This paper focuses on health issues in Ottoman society according to Evliya as well as people’s perception of health problems.
