Abstract
Voltaire, one of the most effective intellectuals of the 18th century Enlightenment Period, fights against the traditional way of thinking and offers progressive ideas, instead. In his works, Voltaire tells journeys which are done in search of happiness. Focusing on his novels Zadig, Micromegas and Candide, this study aims to analyse Voltaire’s imaginary and real journeys where he explores the conflicting mind of man, his search for happiness and self as well as his desire to exceed his boundaries.
