A survey - The Opinions of People about Beggars (OPAB) – with the Cronbach alpha value of .76 was used for the quantitative section of the study. An interview form was used for the qualitative section of the study. Percentages, means, standard deviations, and t-tests were used to analyze quantitative variables. Results from quantitative section of the study indicated that the significant mean differences between male and female participants were on the begging places and the begging tools indicated on survey. On the other hand, results from the qualitative section of the study showed that elementary and middle school children had to be beggars on the streets due to several reasons: household members with no jobs, mothers collecting items from trash bins, and being excluded by society and their teachers.
