EVALUATION OF ENGINEERING FACULTY STUDENTS OPINIONS CONCERNING THE SERVICES OF A UNIVERSITY LIBRARY

The aim of this research is to measure and evaluate the level of satisfaction of engineering faculty students concerning the service of a university library. For this reason, two basic problems are studied. The first problem is to identify opinions of engineering students about the services of the university library while the second problem is to determine the effect of professional education on library usage practices and routines of engineering faculty students. 160 engineering faculty senior class students who are selected by using stratified sampling according to departments participated in this research. The data are conducted through a survey method and results are analysed through frequency tables and non-parametric statistical methods. In this research, library usage frequencies of the students, the qualification of engineering education for library usage practices and routines, and satisfactoriness of library services are measured and evaluated in the research. As a result, opinions of students concerning the library services are diversified meaningfully among departments and genders, but on the contrary, are not diversified according to geographic region, and age dependent variables.
