Abstract :
The purpose of this study is by comparing decipher accompaniment abilities of music teacher candidates by using musical notes and chord passwords to contribute to overcome the problems encountered with. Research is an experimental study. Prepared by the researchers and matched according to their level of difficulty, 10 melody in 5 of them is chord passwords and other 5 were made using musical notes, were decipher play backed to Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Music Education Department 3rd and 4th grade students in the study group consisting of 40 persons were made video and audio recordings. Then, following the success of the students made recordings were scored on four dimensions. Achievements of scores significant differences were sought with “U Test”. As a result, decipher accompaniment achievement scores of students has been found to be higher when using chord passwords.
