Abstract
This study examines the structural transformation in the Turkish economy over the last thirty years and its repercussions in the labor market. First, a review of macroeconomic setting since the 1980s is presented, followed by its effects on the key labor market variables using time series data and international comparisons. In the last section, a number of policy measures against low labor force participation, high unemployment and informality rates to enable the country to cash its demographic dividend labor market is suggested.
