Abstract :
This article discusses non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the context of basic elements of total quality management (TQM). In this context, a theoretical model was developed that takes account of basic elements of TQM and basic features of NGOs. Basic elements of TQM contain the six dimensions. These dimensions are leadership, participation, continuous improvement, continuous education, protection purposefulness and customer focus. Basic features of NGOs are missions, visions, organizational and social values, volunteerism, democracy, sustainability, stakeholders, clarity and evaluability, non profit, projects and teams, customers, freedom, etc. Additionally, this article explains important quality issues as the concept of quality, total quality control (TQC), TQM and the basic elements of TQM, NGOs and quality relationship.
