Abstract
In our study, the gender gap which male and female candidates to be involved in the local newspapers was questioned on the assumption and gender apartheid in media was researched though the local newspapers. Placing the significance of the political communication in affecting the choices of the voters in this context, political communication and its methods have been investigated while the media touch in the political participation and representation of females have been highlighted accordingly. In the study, news with political content as well as announcements that appeared in local newspapers of Antalya and Isparta districts before and after General Elections 2007 have been examined through content analysis.
