Abstract :
In this study; beliefs, socio-political situations and educational activities of Nusayris, who are also known as Hittite Turks due to their origin allegedly based on Hittites, are discussed. Although the regions they lived, their presence in Anatolia and their perspective in Ottoman and Republican periods are discussed from a broader perspective, the main focus of the study is Nusayri policies and applications that are changed with the Republic period. Especially Hars committees established to the cultural unity by teaching Turkish to local people are the main themes of the study. In this regard; structure, organizational form, working conditions and educational activities of these committees as well as difficulties experienced in terms of faith of Nusayri communities and socio-economic structures and levels of development of these communities in the past and present time are discussed. Aiming the realization of political, socio-cultural and economic integration of a united structure during the construction of a nation-state is another topic that we have discussed. Nusayris were allegedly subjected to religious and national assimilation in the history as happened to many other ethnical and religious communities. One of the important topics that was discussed frequently was the thought of integration to origins for state s existence and unity.
