Abstract :
In Minstrel Dertli is one of the most important representatives of minstrel style in Turkish poem tradition in the 19. century. His principal name is İbrahim. Dertli leads a distressful life as it is understood from his pen name. He goes abroad like all of the minstrels and travels a lot of places from Istanbul to Mısır. It draws attention that Dertli frequently mentions the love of ahl al-bayt and the incident of Karbala. It is possible to see the love of ahl al-bayt, the sadness of Karbala incident and the enmity of Yezid in Dertli’s poems. The aim of this study is to determine the influences of Karbala incident and love of ahl al-bayt, which take place in Minstrel Dertli’s poems. In this context, in this article by scanning the poems in Dertli Divanı Comparative Texts prepared by Prof. Dr. Dilaver Düzgün, items about love of ahl al-bayt and the incident of Karbala in Dertli’s poems were determined and Dertli’s perspective to this topic was evaluated. As a result, it was found that in many poems, Minstrel Dertli expressed his love of Ahl al Bayt and the pain he felt at Hüseyin’s being martyred by Yazid in Karbala and although he was a Sunni, he put forth in his poems that he was Alevi and Bektashi. It was also found that love of Ahl al Bayt and Karbala incident are the components which incorporate Muslims in the same feelings and thoughts.
