Abstract :
The effect of two different concentrations (100 mM, 200 mM) of sodium chloride (NaCl) on root lenght (cm), dry weight (%), amount of total chlorophyll, a, b, a/b (m g^-1) and carotenoid (m g^-1) of T. durum Desf. Mirzabey, Altın, Kunduru-1149 and DH- 6 and DH-8 derived from Kunduru-1149 using wide hybridization (Savaskan et.al., 1997) were investigated in this research. Their resistance to the stress of salinity were compared. Arnon-Hoagland solution was used as food source to the plants in the treatment groups and soil was saturated with salt solutions (100 and 200 mM NaCl) except control group. Root lenght, dry weight, the amount of total chlorophyll, chlorophyll a and b and carotenoid were found significantly different in genotypes and all treatment groups.
