Abstract :
The Egirdir Lake is located within the Lake District and it is the second largest fresh water lake of the Turkey. The Lake have quite importance for our country because of using different aims such as drinking-irrigation water, tourism, fishing. However, agricultural, industrial and domestic wastes are the main causes of the degradation of water quality. In this study, temperature (°C), pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen and depth of secchi-disc values were determined with in-situ measurement in the systematically decided 48 location as the first step to determine water quality of the Egirdir Lake during May 2009. Also, temperature, pH, conductivity and dissolved oxygen were measured in different dept and 6 locations, and then related graphs were prepared. Obtained data were evaluated by using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and thematic map of the each parameter was derived using Inverse Distance Weighted Technique (IDW). According to measurement results, average lake water temperature, pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, depth of secchi-disc values were determined as 25,2 °C, 9.0, 391 μmhos/cm, 8,3 mgl, 2,1 m respectively. These data shows that the lake water has very good quality and in class of I according to Schoeller drinking water diagram and Regulation of water pollution control. It is concluded that, the measurements should be repeated periodical to protection of sustainable lake water quality.
