Title Of Article :
Fabrication of ZnO Nanoparticle-Based Thin Films on Cotton Fabrics for Antibacterial Purpose
Abstract :
ZnO nanoparticle involved multilayer nanocomposite films were fabricated on cationic woven cotton fabrics by layer-bylayer molecular self-assembly technique. For cationic surface charge, cotton fabrics pretreated with 2,3- epoxypropyltrimethylammonuium chloride (EP3MAC) by pad-batch method. Nano PU/ZnO, PSS/ZnO and ZnO/PDDA nanocomposite 10 and 16 multilayer films on the cotton fabrics were fabricated by using Layer-by-Layer deposition method. FTIRATR and SEM was employed to examine the presence of multilayer films. All the multilayered cotton fabrics showed excellent antimicrobial activity against to Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Air permeability and whiteness values of fabrics were performed on the fabrics before and after the treatment with ZnO nanoparticles, Nano PU, PSS and PDDA by layer-by-layer deposition method for evaluate the effect of LbL process on cotton fabrics properties. The durability of the self-assembled multilayer films on the cotton fabrics antibacterial activity properties were analysed after 10 and 20 washing cycles.
