The Effects of Total SiO2 and Total CaO Elements Content of Marbles on the Sawability Performance

In this study, the effects of total SiO2 and total CaO contents on sawing rates of ten different marble types collected from different regions were investigated. Marble samples were cut at two-footed ST block cutting machines under constant cutting parameters and the average cutting rates were calculated using by obtained data for each marble. In addition, to determine the total amount of CaO and SiO2 of samples, the chemical analyses were done. So that the necessary data have been obtained for this study. In light of all these data obtained from survey results, the total amount of CaO and SiO2 on cutting efficiency of the marble has shown that they are effective such as other parameters (mineral composition, grain size and textural structure, ect.).
